Federal Spending Bill Proposes $130M For LA Rail Projects

Law360, San Diego (January 16, 2014, 10:31 PM EST) -- The $1.012 trillion federal omnibus funding bill, which lawmakers sent to the president for his signature Thursday, allocates $130 million for two Los Angeles subway projects that aim to transform the city’s mass transit system, according to Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.

The omnibus spending measure, which passed the Senate on a bipartisan 72-26 vote Thursday after clearing the House on Wednesday, provides $65 million each to L.A.'s downtown regional connector and a 9-mile subway extension to the Westside as part of the city’s transit plans, according...
