US Objects To ArmorWorks' Plan To Sell DOD Contracts

Law360, New York (January 17, 2014, 2:17 PM EST) -- The federal government on Thursday lodged an objection to the terms of the planned sale of certain assets of bankrupt defense contractor ArmorWorks Enterprises LLC, saying the armor maker’s plan to authorize an independent representative to sell Department of Defense contracts violates federal law.

Neither ArmorWorks nor an independent representative is allowed to assign any DOD contracts to another entity, absent the consent of the Defense Department, pursuant to the Anti-Assignment Act, according to the government.
