Punk Label Accuses Universal Of Infringing 'Frontier' Mark

Law360, Los Angeles (January 17, 2014, 3:36 PM EST) -- Independent punk rock label Frontier Records on Thursday sued an Italian rock label and its distributor, Universal Music Group Distribution Corp., for allegedly infringing its mark by using the similar moniker Frontiers Records, which the plaintiff claims has caused confusion among consumers and media outlets. 

Frontier founder Lisa Fancher alleges that the Naples, Italy-based label has willfully infringed her trademark, which she said has been in use since Frontier's inception in 1980.
