Nestle Hit With False Ad Suit Over 'All Natural' Fruit Bars

Law360, New York (January 21, 2014, 1:09 PM EST) -- Nestle USA. Inc. was hit Friday with a proposed class action accusing it of misleading customers into buying its Dreyer’s and Edy’s brand fruit bars by falsely advertising them as “all natural” when, in fact, the products contain artificial ingredients.

Plaintiff Marianna Belli alleged in her complaint, filed in Northern California federal court, that she was deceived into purchasing the fruit bars in substantial part because of the “all natural” representations, which she believed meant that the fruit bars were healthier than other similar products....
