Carnival Ends Suit Against Telecom Provider, Inks New Deal
By Carolina Bolado (January 21, 2014, 4:29 PM EST) -- Carnival Corp. on Monday announced a new contract with Maritime Telecommunications Network Inc. for Internet and phone service for its vessels, just days after settling its lawsuit against the satellite communications company for allegedly slowing down service on purpose.
Carnival and MTN in a joint statement said they would be extending their agreement for Internet services as well as broadcast television services with MTN Worldwide TV on various Carnival Corp. brands, including Princess Cruises, Cunard and P&O Cruises.
Carnival brands in Alaskan waters will also have access to MTN's terrestrial broadband services while in port, according to the statement.
