States Face $1.5B Tax Penalty Over Medicaid Opt-Out: Report

Law360, New York (January 23, 2014, 2:57 PM EST) -- Large employers located in states that have not yet expanded Medicaid coverage as part of the Affordable Care Act could face combined annual tax penalties of between $1.03 billion and $1.55 billion, according to a report released Wednesday by Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Inc.
