Texas Eases Propane Licensing As Prices Surge Nationwide

Law360, Los Angeles (January 23, 2014, 7:12 PM EST) -- Texas Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst on Wednesday temporarily loosened licensing restrictions on propane transportation, letting drivers licensed in other states access Texas’ liquefied petroleum supply as costs skyrocket across the country.

The intense cold, coupled with pipeline disruptions and a wet harvest requiring propane to dry crops, has caused extreme drops in Midwest propane inventories, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
