Carrefour Inks €2B Deal For European Mall Portfolio

Law360, New York (January 24, 2014, 2:32 PM EST) -- French retail giant Carrefour SA has signed a binding agreement to purchase 127 shopping malls from Klepierre for €2 billion ($2.75 billion) as part of its plan to create one of the largest retail shopping center companies in Europe, it said Friday.

The signing of the agreement finalizes exclusive negotiations the companies entered last month and moves forward Carrefour's European mall development plan. The deal is expected to close in the first half of this year.
