Dish Takes Issue With $74M TiVo Damages Award

Law360 (March 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Dish Network Corp. has asked an appeals court to reconsider its decision to uphold a district court's $74 million damages award to TiVo Inc. for infringement of its patent covering digital video recording software, arguing that TiVo relied on contradictory evidence.

Dish Network, formerly known as EchoStar Communications Corp., said that a three-judge panel at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit “went astray” in January when it upheld a jury verdict against the company.
