Law360, New York (January 29, 2014, 9:18 PM EST) -- Lawmakers and trade groups praised President Barack Obama for highlighting patent reform in his State of the Union address, saying late Tuesday night that it was time to rein in abusive litigation with new laws.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., both of whom have sponsored patent reform legislation, applauded Obama directly after his speech for calling attention to the issue.
