Fla. Appeals Court Says Ex-Partner Can Access Firm's Books

Law360, Miami (January 29, 2014, 2:55 PM EST) -- A Florida appeals court on Wednesday affirmed a summary judgment ruling that found a former partner who left a Miami law firm still holds shares in it and is entitled to inspect the firm's financial records.

In a one-page per curiam decision, a panel of Florida's Third District Court of Appeal affirmed a determination that Robert B. Brown III, who had helped found The Alters Law Firm PA, still had a 10 percent ownership interest in the firm despite leaving for a competitor in June 2010....
