DOD, GSA To Bump Up Cybersecurity In Acquisitions

Law360, Washington (January 30, 2014, 7:00 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Defense and the General Services Administration on Wednesday released a joint report outlining their planned steps to improve the cybersecurity of the Federal Acquisition System, prompted by an order from President Barack Obama for federal agencies to shore up against cyberattacks.

The report lays out several recommended reforms to improve cybersecurity in federal acquisitions, which the agencies say is necessary given the government's increasing reliance on computer technology and the importance of cybersecurity to national and economic security.
