Enron Trio Loses Bid To Quash New Indictment

Law360, New York (March 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has rejected an attempt by former executives of Enron Corp.'s broadband unit to dismiss a government indictment that they claim rehashes charges already tried.

In a ruling handed down Monday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit upheld the district court's denial of the three Enron Broadband Services executives' petition to toss the indictment, saying the cited doctrine of collateral estoppel did not bar the prosecution of claims undecided by a jury.
