Oil Driller Says Pooling Clause Should End Trespass Suit

Law360, Dallas (February 4, 2014, 7:34 PM EST) -- An oil operator told the Texas Supreme Court on Tuesday that it had a right of access across land that is a part of a pooled drilling unit even though production from the pooled unit wasn't coming from that part of the land.

Key Operating & Equipment Inc., which seeks to reverse a ruling from the First Court of Appeals, contends landowners Will and Loree Hegar have no right to prevent Key from using a road that crosses the Hegars' property as its trucks access wells...
