Jewelry Giant Not A Girl's Best Friend: Suit

Law360, New York (March 20, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The largest jewelry store chain in the U.S. has been hit with a potential class action alleging that the company's managers discriminated against female employees when handing out both payment and promotions.

More than a dozen current and former female employees brought discrimination charges Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York against Sterling Jewelers Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of London-based jeweler Signet Group.
