General Dynamics Gets $520M For Submarine Procurement

Law360, Washington (February 5, 2014, 4:11 PM EST) -- The U.S. Navy has awarded a General Dynamics Corp. unit a $520 million modification to a procurement contract for the Virginia-class nuclear attack submarine, allowing for the purchase of long lead-time material for four pending submarines, the company said Wednesday.

The contract provides Groton, Conn.-based General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp. with funding for steam and electrical plant components, generator sets for ship-service turbines and main propulsion units, and various hull, mechanical and electrical systems components, supporting the construction of planned Virginia-class submarines, numbers SSN-794 through SSN-797,...
