Google Gets Lenovo Stake As Part Of $3B Motorola Deal

Law360, New York (February 7, 2014, 2:28 PM EST) -- Google Inc. will own a 5.94 percent stake in China's Lenovo Group Ltd. worth about $750 million, according to a disclosure on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, as part of the terms from a deal the Internet search giant made late last month.

Google announced Jan. 29 that it was selling its Motorola Mobility unit to Lenovo for $2.91 billion. Lenovo, a Chinese computer maker, said it made the move in order to continue its push into the world of smartphones.
