Six Flags, Disney Rides Don't Infringe Patent, Magistrate Says

Law360, New York (February 7, 2014, 6:10 PM EST) -- Six Flags Theme Parks Inc., The Walt Disney Co. and other theme park operators do not infringe a magnetic brake patent because the patent claims contain errors rendering them invalid, a federal magistrate judge said in a recommendation Friday. 

U.S. Magistrate Judge Mary Pat Thynge recommended granting the theme parks’ motions for summary judgment of invalidity of the claim in one patent, while also recommending denying summary judgment for invalidity of another patent but finding that patent was not infringed.
