NY AG Backs Plan For Lenders To Care For Foreclosed Homes

Law360, New York (February 10, 2014, 5:32 PM EST) -- Lenders would have to care for homes abandoned in foreclosure under legislation pitched Monday by New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, who also wants to increase tracking of such real estate as well as funding of state land banks in the effort to reduce the number of so-called zombie properties.

The attorney general unveiled the plan at a conference of New York mayors and other officials in Albany as part of an effort to combat blight and associated crime that comes with abandoned foreclosure properties. ...
