Spate Of Retailer Hacks Wasn't Coordinated, Task Force Says

Law360, New York (February 10, 2014, 6:46 PM EST) -- A multiagency government task force said Monday that it has no evidence a series of cyberattacks that compromised customer data from retailers including Target Corp. and Neiman Marcus Group Ltd. LLC were part of a coordinated breach campaign.

In a report, the National Cyber Investigative Joint Task Force said it is tracking and coordinating investigations by the government and retail industry concerning the use of malware by criminal elements affecting point-of-sale systems.
