NY Landowners Sue Cuomo Over Fracking Decision Delay

Law360, New York (February 14, 2014, 2:41 PM EST) -- A New York property rights group that includes more than 70,000 landowners is seeking a court order forcing the state to promptly decide whether to allow hydraulic fracturing, claiming Friday that Gov. Andrew Cuomo and his administration have been illegally dragging out the review process.

The Joint Landowners Coalition of New York Inc. lodged a suit against Cuomo and two state agencies in state court, demanding that the state complete their studies of environmental and health effects of hydraulic fracturing. The current delay of five and a half years is legally unjustifiable, the suit says.
