NY Bank Regulator To Release Bitcoin Guidance In 2014

Law360, New York (February 21, 2014, 3:23 PM EST) -- The head of New York's banking regulator said Thursday that the agency intends to release proposed rules for virtual currency firms doing business in the state by the end of 2014.

While answering questions on the social media website Reddit, New York State Department of Financial Services Superintendent Benjamin Lawsky said his agency would like to release a regulatory framework for Bitcoin and other digital currencies as soon as possible.
