Calpine Hires Kirkland As Bankruptcy Counsel

Law360 (January 26, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New York has approved Calpine’s motions to retain Kirkland & Ellis as counsel, PA Consulting Group as energy industry consultant and Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle as conflicts counsel.

The Court also greenlighted the company’s motions to retain Covington & Burling as special counsel and Thelen Reid & Priest as special counsel.

The choice of law firms to represent Calpine in its bankruptcy is no blind pick.
