Pentagon's Reliance On War Funding Raises Caution Flags

Law360, New York (March 3, 2014, 7:21 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Defense has used its war funding to blunt the impact of sequestration budget cuts, but that strategy could catch up to the military quickly if the U.S. is unable to keep troops in Afghanistan beyond the end of 2014, analysts said Monday.

The Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments previewed the Pentagon's 2015 budget in a conference call Monday, and said that the agency's Overseas and Contingency Operations, or OCO, funding may not be known until well after the formal budget arrives....
