Ex-Event Planning Co. Execs Dealt Blow In Noncompete Row

Law360, New York (February 25, 2014, 5:42 PM EST) -- A New York state appeals court on Tuesday revived nonsolicitation covenants asserted by corporate event planning company TBA Global LLC against three former executives who allegedly schemed to take clients and trade secrets before quitting and immediately launching a competitor.

A unanimous five-judge First Department panel reversed New York Supreme Court Judge Melvin L. Schweitzer's April summary ruling that TBA Global contracts signed by defendants Mark Shearon, Chuck Santoro and James Cavanaugh were unenforceable.
