Law360, Los Angeles (February 25, 2014, 9:50 PM EST) -- A California judge granted class certification Tuesday to more than 10,000 emergency medical technicians and hundreds of dispatchers who allege in two related suits that American Medical Response Inc. and its Southern California branch failed to pay sufficient overtime, saying a companywide policy affected all California employees.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elihu S. Berle gave the nod to a class certification bid from plaintiffs Vaughan Banta III, representing EMTs, and Laura Karapetian and Melanie Aguilar, representing dispatchers.
