Ocwen Under NY Banking Regulator's Probe Over Biz Practices

Law360, New York (February 26, 2014, 6:06 PM EST) -- New York's top banking regulator said in a letter to Ocwen Financial Corp. on Wednesday that a review of the mortgage servicer's practices has raised concerns about its business ethics and requested documents to help the investigation.

The letter, written by New York State Department of Financial Services Superintendent Benjamin Lawsky and sent to the company on Wednesday, said that the agency's review of Ocwen had brought to light concerns over potential conflicts of interest between Ocwen and other companies.
