States Urge FCC To Block XM-Sirius Merger

Law360 (March 27, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Days after the U.S. Department of Justice rebuffed calls to block the proposed merger between XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. and Sirius Satellite Radio, 11 attorneys general turned to the Federal Communications Commission Thursday for intervention.

Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann joined attorneys general from 10 other states in a letter to FCC Chairman Kevin Martin, urging the agency to prevent the merger that, as planned, would marry the only two satellite radio companies in the United States.
