RBS Dodges Some Claims In Securities Fraud Suit

Law360, New York (February 27, 2014, 1:47 PM EST) -- A California federal judge on Wednesday partially granted RBS Securities Inc.'s motion to dismiss the federal credit union regulator's lawsuit over $629 million in mortgage-backed securities that helped lead to the failure of a major credit union, saying they were untimely.

Following up on a tentative ruling from December, Judge George H. Wu of the Central District said certain of the National Credit Union Administration Board’s claims against RBS were time-barred by Securities Act of 1933, but that others would be allowed to go forward....
