Snowden Docs Show UK Spied On Yahoo Webcam Users

Law360, New York (February 27, 2014, 1:25 PM EST) -- A British surveillance agency, aided by the National Security Agency, has intercepted and stored images from millions of unsuspecting Yahoo Inc. webcam users, according to a report Thursday based on documents leaked by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden.

According to the U.K.’s Government Communications Headquarters files, a secret program called Optic Nerve collected still images of webcam chats and saved them to the agency’s databases, the Guardian reported, quoting from secret documents.
