Senate Panel Approves Obama's Pick For DOL 2nd-In-Command

Law360, New York (February 28, 2014, 6:59 PM EST) -- The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee voted Thursday to confirm Christopher P. Lu, a Harvard Law School graduate and White House cabinet secretary, to serve as deputy secretary of the U.S.Department of Labor, sending the nomination to the full Senate.

The committee voted to advance Lu's nomination, as well as those of four other presidential picks for agency posts, in an executive session on Thursday, paving the way for the full Senate to consider the nomination.
