Navy Injects $1.3B Into Aircraft Carrier Contract

Law360, Los Angeles (March 4, 2014, 10:23 PM EST) -- Huntington Ingalls Inc. said Tuesday that the U.S. Navy agreed to tack on $1.3 billion to a contract to build the Navy aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy.

The deal finances Huntington’s work providing all services and material in preparation for the construction of the ship, known as CVN 79, including the research, engineering, design, development, advance planning, life cycle support, and data necessary to support its anticipated fiscal 2015 award of the detail design and construction, the company said.
