Ford Must Pay Widower $13M Over Faulty Fuel Tank

Law360, New York (March 31, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Georgia's highest court has let stand a $13 million judgment against Ford Motor Co. in a suit brought by the husband of a woman who was killed when the fuel tank of her car burst into flames in a 1999 crash.

A panel of justices of the Supreme Court of Georgia said in the unanimous decision, rendered Friday, that evidence existed that Ford was aware of the potential dangers posed by Anne Marie Gibson's 1985 Mercury Marquis and failed to adequately warn her of them....
