Navajo, Citizens Energy Plan Wind Power Project

Law360, New York (March 31, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Navajo Nation has reached a deal with Boston-based Citizens Energy Corporation to build a wind-power plant on Navajo land to deliver over 500 megawatts of power, a representative for the tribe's legal counsel said on Tuesday.

Navajo Nation President Joe Shirley Jr. said that the Dine Wind Project, under the guidance of the Navajo's Dine Power Authority, will "harness the power of the wind to bring economic prosperity for the Navajo people and build our energy independence."
