Kan. Must Trim $84M Cost Of Alt Highway Plan, Officials Say

Law360, New York (March 11, 2014, 5:46 PM EDT) -- Kansas transportation officials said on Tuesday that they are trying to lower the estimated $84 million cost of an alternative highway expansion project plan that would avoid removing part of a historic state landmark.

The U.S. 50 Expansion Project, which has been in planning stages since 2011, calls for the 16-mile portion of U.S. 50 highway between the cities of  Dodge and Cimarron, Kan., to be extended to four lanes.
