Doctor To Pay $1.5M To Settle Medicare Fraud Claims

Law360, New York (March 12, 2014, 4:55 PM EDT) -- A physician with practices in New Jersey and New York reached a $1.5 million settlement with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General over allegations he submitted thousands of false Medicare claims, the OIG said Wednesday.

Dr. Joseph A. Raia admitted no wrongdoing as part of his settlement, which also includes a 15-year exclusion from participation in any federal health care program, according to a statement.
