San Bernardino Gets Lease Deadline Extended In Ch. 9 Case

Law360, New York (March 13, 2014, 5:51 PM EDT) -- A California bankruptcy judge on Thursday granted the city of San Bernardino, Calif., more time to reject or assume some of its leases of nonresidential property, the latest lease-related extension in the city's Chapter 9 bankruptcy.

Judge Meredith A. Jury said the city has until Dec. 31 to come to a decision regarding three leases with the California Infrastructure and Economic Development Bank. As said in previous lease extension decisions, Judge Jury added that San Bernardino would have to keep making rent payments pursuant to the terms of the leases during...
