Forest Labs Hit With Suit Over Antidepressant Marketing

Law360, Los Angeles (March 14, 2014, 6:29 PM EDT) -- Forest Laboratories Inc. was hit with a proposed class action in Massachusetts federal court Thursday by two funds that say the company deceptively and unlawfully marketed adolescent depression drugs Celexa and Lexapro by using misleading drug labels and paying people to endorse them.

The plaintiffs, Allied Services Division Welfare Fund and New Mexico UFCW Union’s and Employers’ Health and Welfare Trust Fund, are suing on behalf of themselves and others who had to pay or provide reimbursement for the antidepressant medications and sustained injury. According to...
