Fed. Circ. Revives Street View Patent Suit Against Google

Law360, New York (March 14, 2014, 3:35 PM EDT) -- The Federal Circuit on Friday vacated a district court’s ruling that Google Inc.’s Street View navigation service does not infringe patents held by Vederi LLC, finding the trial judge improperly limited the patents’ claims to flat images.

The three-judge appellate panel ruled that claims in four patents held by Vederi could apply to curved images, in a rebuke to a claim construction decided by U.S. Circuit Judge Alex Kozinski, who sat by designation as a trial judge in the case.
