Cuomo Calls Senate Snub On NYC Tax Cuts A 'Non-Starter'

Law360, New York (March 14, 2014, 6:55 PM EDT) -- The New York State Senate's budget resolution contains no income-based property tax relief for New York City homeowners, and no credit for renters, leading Gov. Andrew Cuomo to call the spending blueprint a "non-starter" Friday as spending negotiations ramped up in earnest.

Cuomo, a Democrat, made the comments to WNYC radio after the Republican-controlled Senate and the Democrat-dominated New York State Assembly passed their budget resolutions. The governor referred to them as a “Christmas wish list” that would be hashed out in closed-door negotiations.
