Senate Confirms Obama's Pick For Commerce Post

Law360, New York (March 17, 2014, 3:10 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Senate on Thursday confirmed President Barack Obama’s nominee Arun M. Kumar for a top U.S. Department of Commerce position, where he will work to increase U.S. exports and help domestic companies boost sales in global markets.

Kumar was confirmed by a vote of unanimous consent to serve as assistant secretary of Commerce for global markets and director general of the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service, which falls under Commerce’s International Trade Administration.
