Chevron To Settle 'Hot Fuel' MDL For $2.1M

Law360, New York (March 17, 2014, 5:23 PM EDT) -- Chevron USA Inc. has agreed to pay over $2.1 million to exit multidistrict litigation in which energy firms and fuel retailers are being accused of selling gas without accounting for temperature expansion, according to a court filing Saturday.

Chevron is among 18 defendants who have agreed to settle claims in the MDL, according to the filing in Kansas federal court. The other 17 defendants — including W.R. Hess Co. and World Oil Corp. — agreed to each pay much smaller sums to settle the case, with...
