Zenith Sues Television Makers Over Digital TV Patent

Law360, New York (February 1, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- LG Electronics Inc.’s Zenith Electronics Corp. has accused a host of foreign and domestic television makers of infringing more than a dozen technology patents for U.S.-standard digital broadcasts.

Filed in the plaintiff-friendly Eastern District of Texas, the complaint charges Thomson, Inc., Philips Electronics Corp., TTE Technology Inc., and Pioneer Electronics, Inc. of infringing all 13 of its patents for an “advanced television” system.
