North American Title Co. Can't Decertify Class In OT Row

Law360, Los Angeles (March 18, 2014, 4:14 PM EDT) -- A California appeals court on Monday refused to decertify a class of escrow officers accusing a real estate settlement service provider of pressuring workers to skip breaks and work off the clock without pay, saying they provided enough evidence that common issues predominate.

Denying North American Title Co.'s petition for writ of mandate in its appeal of a lower court's decision, the appeals judges said the escrow officers' claims were suited for class treatment because they alleged an unlawful uniform policy under which workers feared losing...
