NYC Wins Claim Dismissal From Builders In Crane Collapse

Law360, New York (March 19, 2014, 6:05 PM EDT) -- The New York Supreme Court last week granted the city of New York's motion for summary judgment in a case over a 2008 crane collapse that killed two people, dismissing cross-claims from building companies involved in the suit.

In a decision from March 13, the court also granted conditional summary judgment to the city and its Department of Buildings on their own cross-claims for contractual indemnification against two of the builders involved: 1765 First Associates LLC and Sorbara Construction Corp., the lead developer, had entered into...
