Fla. House Committee Advances Comprehensive Gaming Bill

Law360, Miami (March 19, 2014, 6:27 PM EDT) -- The Florida House of Representative Select Committee on Gaming, a panel formed to examine possible changes to the state's regulations, including expansion, moved closer to completing its mission Wednesday as it unanimously advanced a comprehensive bill that calls for consolidating oversight under a new state commission.

H.B. 1383, which was introduced by Committee Chair Robert Schenck, R-Spring Hill, would also revoke inactive pari-mutuel permits and establish uniform procedures for the conversion or relocation of permits. The new gaming commission would be responsible for approving pari-mutuel permits...
