Sidley Austin Escapes $100M Vegas Retail Project Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (March 21, 2014, 7:53 PM EDT) -- A New York state judge on Friday threw out a $100 million breach of contract suit brought by investors in a Las Vegas retail complex who alleged Sidley Austin LLP and Berger & Webb LLP purposely deceived judges in litigation over a contract.

New York Supreme Court Judge Eileen Bransten granted the law firms’ motions to dismiss the claims that they’d violated the state’s Judiciary Law 487, but also dismissed the entire amended complaint, finding the claims against the attorneys weren’t brought properly, according to the...
