BT Settles With Baby Bell Over Fiber-Optics Patent

Law360, New York (December 3, 2003, 12:00 AM EST) -- IP Law Bulletin (New York, Dec. 3, 2003)--BT Group settled its litigation against rivals Cincinnati Bell and its former sister company, Broadwing Communications, for allegedly infringing its fiber-optics patents, BT said on Wednesday.

BT, the holding company of British Telecommunications, had sued the two companies in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware on June 2 for infringement of two of its patents. The patents cover methods of making fiber optic cable installations by a technique known as the "blowing" of fiber optic cable....
