Chartis, Travelers Sued Over Denied TCPA Suit Coverage

Law360, New York (March 24, 2014, 1:16 PM EDT) -- Chartis Specialty Insurance Co. and Travelers Casualty Insurance Co. of America were hit with a suit Sunday in Missouri federal court alleging they wrongly withheld coverage from two marketing and communications companies accused of violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

AIC Communications LLC, also known as ccAdvertising, and Inc. allege that the insurers, with whom they held policies in 2012 and 2013, owe them coverage for an underlying class action alleging they left voicemail messages on plaintiffs’ answering machines without consent, according to the complaint....
