Calif. Appeals Court Clears LA Development Project

Law360, New York (March 24, 2014, 8:45 PM EDT) -- A California appeals court on Thursday cleared the way for a massive mixed-use residential project along portions of a river north of Los Angeles, reversing an earlier decision that had rejected an environmental review and approval of the project.

A Second Appellate District panel ruled that the California Department of Fish and Wildlife's endorsement of Newhall Land and Farming Co.'s proposed Newhall Ranch project along portions of the Santa Clara River was valid. The project is slated to include nearly 20,000 residential units.
